Respite with Linda provides respite accommodation and professional care in our approved family home that addresses your child’s emotional, physical, social and psychological needs.

We’re a Registered NDIS provider and Approved Carer Gateway provider. We offer weekend respite care for children aged 5-17 living with disabilities.

We’re based in Morayfield, Moreton Bay Region.

We invite you to come and tour our home where we’ll discuss your child’s needs, goals and NDIS or Carer Gateway plan. We want you to be completely comfortable leaving your child in our care, so please feel free to ask us as many questions as you need.

We keep our rates affordable so that more families can access the help they need when they need it. In fact, our rates are lower than the current NDIS price guide for short term accommodation.

We supply healthy, hearty meals and snacks that span breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.

And we provide clean, comfortable bedding and linen.

You don’t have to worry about body wash or shampoo or conditioner – we supply that too.

You can also leave the devices at home as we have iPads, Nintendo Switches and XBoxes here!

Transportation and entry fees for excursions including farms, cinemas and more are included in your fee.

All our home-based activities are also part of the package – from craft, painting and cooking to outdoor play including scooters and basketball.

• Comforting items such as blankets or stuffed toys.

We take the safety and security of our home and our guests very seriously.

All windows and doors have security screens, and the security doors are key-locked.

We use an electronic safe for the storage of medication.

Windows and glass below 750 mm high are safety glass or safety film treated and all blind and curtain cords are secured to the window frames. We also have wall mounted / fixed televisions, and all kitchen appliances and equipment are stored safely.

Our hot water is set at 45 degrees Celsius, in accordance with NDIS guidelines.

All chemicals and cleaning products are kept in locked cupboards. 

We have interconnected photoelectric smoke alarms installed and routinely maintained throughout the house. 

From a housekeeping perspective, we service our airconditioning units annually, and they are cleaned regularly. Along with regular pest inspections, a professional cleaning service is used to clean, disinfect, and maintain our home each week. 

All staff have current WWCC Suitability Registrations and NDIS Worker Screening Checks. On the health front - We are all fully vaccinated for COVID19.

Evacuation plans are in place, and periodical drills are conducted with all children. We repeat this process to ensure they are aware of procedures in case of emergencies. 

We operate on a 1:3 ratio, with no more than 3 children per team member. While some organisations charge a more exclusive 1:1 or 1:2 rate if there are fewer than 3 children per staff member, our rate remains the same, so you’ll never be charged more if we have less children in our care.

We’re unable to cater for children with high medical or support needs, or children who require 1:1 support.

We visit local community attractions including cinemas, 10-Pin Bowling, White Ridge Farm and The Craft Haven. We regularly venture further afield to exciting destinations such as the Workshop Rail Museum, Colour My Pot, Wildlife HQ, Sea Life and more.  All fees and transport are included in your respite care fee. 

As a community organisation, we work hard to build a strong, positive relationship with parents and children in our care. We've been operating for more than 19 years; many of our guests come through word of mouth or repeat visits.
